Ha, the problem they need to fix is their alert system or structure on here. Cause I’m not sure if writers are aware of this but just spending a few hundred bucks could get you a dot com with plugins that can make your own medium. Only your readers/followers will actually get notified when you wrote something. Because you would have more control and options over that. So, if you are really any good then why spend time building up someone else’s site when we can do it for ourselves?

Hell, we’d even have a better looking site then the lame upgrades they just gave us. And don’t even get me started with SEO cause who ever lied about this place having good SEO was full of it. I scanned my last article and it didn’t even hit over 50% good quality SEO. The paywall being apart of the problem and that’s an article that had work done on it to make sure it would rank with keywords, title structure and all.

The only other thing that I can think of that hurt that article. Was if somehow my posting structure didn’t come out right because I didn’t use the right things to post it here correctly. Which writers shouldn’t have to worry about. Since it’s something easily dealt with when having your own website with real plugins that help prevent any errors in post format in real time.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, you get what you get when it’s free. But if you take yourself seriously then these sort of options should be used to make extra connections instead of seen as a real viable option. Having a dot com shows the world your not messing around. The business thing comes along with being an independent writer. So, using 3rd party options aren’t really a great way to legitimize that.

It is a good way to wave hello to other writers to let them know you exist online though. ☝️😊

Writer / Illustrator / Creator for more info look me up on twitter! Mainly a novel writer but I also write critical and scary content for fun 😁
